Information About Our Class:

Our class teacher is Miss Kemp and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Siddque (Full-time) and Miss Watkin (Afternoons). We are also supported by Mrs Hussain all day on a Thursday and Mr Olde helps us with our Physical Education lessons on Tuesday and Friday.

Our Class Routines:

We encourage children to read at home everyday, especially their high-frequency word sheet. Please use the reading record to record your reading at home. Your child's reading records and sound book will be checked and reviewed every Thursday. Please ensure your child brings these in their school book bags. Our Physical Education lessons run on a Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their Physical Education uniform.

Autumn - First Half Term

We have spent a lot of time settling in to our new class, getting to know our new teachers and making new friends.

Our overarching topic this term has been 'Marvellous Me'. Each week we have focused on a different area about ourselves. We have talked a lot about our families and have learnt about our different body parts and senses.

We have look at how we grow up and how to keep ourselves healthy. Physical Education with Mr Olde has been exciting and we have enjoyed coming to school wearing our Physical Education uniform.

We have had fun enjoying the outside environment.

We celebrated international Dot Day! Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds book The Dot we have enjoyed practising mark making and becoming confident forming some letters. We have especially been working hard on becoming confident reading and writing our names.

In mathematics we have done lots of counting with Numberblocks, looking at what the different numbers look like. Exploring shapes and patterns we have looked at famous abstract artists who use 2D shapes. We are all enjoying our creativity and have had fun producing our own shape artwork.

We all had a fantastic time with the farm animals that visited our school! We asked lots of questions about the care of farm animals, their life cycles and the animal products they produce.

During the last week before our half term break we had a wonderful time celebrating The Harvest Festival, discussing what we were Thankful for. We were all also very excited to celebrate Halloween, coming to school wearing our fancy dress costumes.

We had lots of fun washing and preparing our Halloween class pumpkins.

Developing our fine motor skills we enjoyed decorating the pumpkins with hammers and golf tees.

Autumn - Second Half Term

Our topic this term is 'Celebrations'. We will be looking at events such as, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day, Diwali, Eid and Christmas. We will be discussing the importance of these special occasions.
